Rejected by your peers, despaired of by your parents. You’ve always stood out from the crowd. You act differently, think differently. There’s something about you, something that makes others stare. Something that makes you want to hide away in a dark corner, or turn and fight back. Even if you don’t know what it is, it’s there.
You’ve always been wrong.
Something about you isn’t right, and everyone can tell. You’re just off somehow, out of sync with the others. Your very essence is strange, you can feel it. There’s something unnatural about you. It’s always been there, haunting you, following you, ruling you. Turning you into a freak.
You’ve always been special.
You’re different for a reason. You’re one of the special few – one of the children who inherited the gene. The one tiny thing that makes you extraordinary. Whether a gift or a curse, it’s there. Always has been, always will be. You can’t make it go away. But you can control it, learn to manipulate it. Maybe even enjoy it.
A School for Misfits
Because that’s what you’ve always been – a misfit. An ancient castle, hidden on an island somewhere in the North Atlantic. Run by one of the most powerful forces on Earth, the school teaches you how to control your powers. You can master your first ability, manipulate it, learn new powers, and most importantly, hide it. You can pretend to be normal, try to live in normal society. But you’ll always be a misfit.
